SYSTEM DESIGN

This phase starts immediately after the acceptance of the SRS. A team of System Architects & Designers (SADs) converts the Functional and Technical Requirements (System Requirement Specifications) into the System Architecture and Design using Structured System Design (SSD) and/or Object Oriented Design (OOA) methodologies. This will be documented in a detailed manner in the System Design Descriptions (SDD) document - which will be the second major deliverable. This document provides complete details of the Technical (System) Design.

Typically, most of the design activities are undertaken OFFSITE. The PM or SADs will regularly interact with the client for the purpose of validation of design as well as clarification of queries. The offsite Design activities will be supported by the GIPO personnel stationed offshore.

The Functional Test Plan (FTP) and Project Coding Standards are prepared during the later stage of this phase. The FTP provides the plan for internal (within Synlog) functional testing of units, modules, and integrated application. The Project Coding Standards are derived from the general Coding Standards (for the technology / tool used e.g. Java Coding Standards 2.0) for the specific project e.g. FFMIS Project Coding Standards 1.0.

Both the SDD and the FTP are delivered to the client for review and acceptance.
